2011 Season

It has been nearly 3 months since those who were still playing, competed at the zone championships! It’s hard to believe how quickly that time has come and gone. Congratulations and a HUGE thank you to everyone for all of their hard-work in ensuring the zone championships ran smoothly. It would be too hard to thank everyone individually however those who helped should give themselves a massive pat on the back. The running of the event was threatened by rain a week out, however the sun shone brightly and warmly for the Saturday and Sunday, albeit with a little rain on the Saturday night which unfortunately did dampen our celebrations a little. Except for a few items which we will learn from for next time, the feedback was that the carnival was very well run and we should all be very proud of ourselves.

For those who are still polocrosse keen, the green horse practices have commenced on Sunday’s at Bong Bong at 10am. Don’t worry the 2012 season will be here before we know it! It is expected that the 2012 carnival dates will be listed on the NSW Polocrosse website (www.nswpolocrosse.com.au) soon so keep an eye out for them. It has been confirmed that Narrabri will be running the 2012 Club Championships after their wash-out this year. Also on the website is information regarding a large range of international tours running next year, so check them out!

2011 AGM

BIOSECURITY BULLETIN
…important biosecurity updates for NSW
www.dpi.nsw.gov.au
7 July 2011
Hendra virus confirmed at Macksville
A horse from a property near Macksville on the NSW Mid Coast was confirmed to be infected with Hendra
virus on 6 July 2011.
The dead horse and its companion were sampled by a government veterinarian. The second horse tested
negative for Hendra.
There is a fig tree in the mare’s paddock, but no known bat colonies nearby. Bats are seen occasionally.
The property has been placed in quarantine and is being managed by the Department of Primary
Industries and the Mid Coast Livestock Health and Pest Authority. Staff from the Department are
continuing to work closely with NSW Health and government authorities in Queensland.
This incident is not linked to the other recent case in NSW and the recent cases in Queensland.
Restrictions are in place on the quarantined property and apply to the movement of horses and other
items onto and off the property. In addition to the companion horse, two other horses on the property are
being monitored.
The risk to neighbouring horses is being assessed.
Hendra virus at Wollongbar
The remaining horse on this property is being monitored on a daily basis. Two more rounds of testing for
Hendra virus must be conducted before the quarantine can be lifted.
If you suspect your horse has Hendra virus
If you are concerned that your horse has Hendra virus, contact your private veterinarian. They will assess
the horse and notify authorities if they suspect the horse is infected. If your vet is unavailable and the
horse is deteriorating rapidly, please phone the emergency animal disease hotline on 1800 675 888.
There is a legal responsibility to report suspected Hendra cases to the local Livestock Health and Pest
Authority, an inspector with the Department of Primary Industries, or the Emergency Animal Disease
Hotline on 1800 675 888.
Horse movements in NSW
Hendra virus is not highly infectious and, consequently, the NSW horse industry is not subject to
movement restrictions for Hendra virus – except for the properties under quarantine.
Hendra virus could potentially occur wherever there are fruit bats and horse owners should be vigilant for
signs consistent with Hendra virus infection.
Horse owners should practice good biosecurity, and not travel, work on or take unwell horses to other
properties or equestrian events.
CVO bulletin to the NSW Horse industry, Hendra update 7 July 2011
Reducing the risk to your horse
Horse owners can take the following steps to reduce the risk of horses becoming infected with Hendra
virus. This advice is based on our current understanding of the virus:
· Place horse water containers under cover and feed horses under cover.
· Do not place horse feed and water containers under trees, particularly if flying foxes are attracted
to those trees.
· If feed and water troughs must be placed in the shade of fruiting trees, consider building a cover
over them to prevent contamination from above.
· Do not use feed that might be attractive to flying foxes if they are known to be in the area. Fruit
and vegetables (e.g. apples, carrots) or anything sweet (e.g. molasses) may attract flying foxes.
· If possible, remove horses from paddocks when trees on which bats may feed are flowering. If this
is not possible, fence or tape off the area under flowering trees, Alternatively, stable horses at
high risk times when fruit bats are feeding or roosting in or around their paddocks.
· If it is not possible to remove horses from paddocks, try to temporarily remove your horses during
times of peak flying fox activity (usually at dusk and during the night).
Reducing the risk to yourself
Hendra can spread from an infected horse to a human even before the horse gets sick. Make it a rule at
your stable to always use good hygiene.
Handling well horses
Before handling any well horse:
· Cover any cuts and abrasions on exposed skin and wash hands well with soap and water, especially
after handling your horse’s mouth or nose (eg. Fitting or removing a bridle) and before eating, smoking
or touching your eyes, nose or mouth,
· Don’t kiss horses on the muzzle,
· Use personal protective equipment to protect yourself from the body fluids of horses.
Handling a sick horse
If your horse is sick:
· Protect your skin, eyes and mouth as much as possible and avoid touching body fluids of sick horses
(eg nasal discharge, saliva, blood, urine).
· If you are exposed to any body fluids, wash the area immediately using soap and water.
· Arrange for a vet to assess your horse ASAP.
· Do not allow anyone else to handle a sick horse (eg family members, farriers, horse dentists)
If you may have been exposed to an infected animal
If you think you have been exposed to an infected animal:
· Contact your doctor or NSW Public Health. Local offices are listed at: www.health.nsw.gov.au/
publichealth/Infectious/phus.asp
· A NSW Health Hendra Fact Sheet is available at: www.
health.nsw.gov.au/factsheets/infectious/hendra.html

2011 Season
The Southern Highlands season has come and gone already, with it only seeming like yesterday that I was writing how the first carnival was just around the corner. Congratulations to everyone for your efforts so far this year. It was great to see some of our younger players step up into open competition and for our teams to make finals. Congratulations to all of those who have won individual awards at various carnivals. For those still wanting more polocrosse there are still plenty of carnivals out of our zone you can travel to.

2011 NSW Zone Championships
The Zone Championships have all season seemed to be an eternity away however I am here to tell you that there are only 7 weeks to go!! This means a lot of hard work between now and then. A big thank you to those who have been meeting, contributing ideas and working hard on the behind the scenes stuff so far, but I don’t need to remind you that Burradoo as a Club is hosting this carnival not particular individuals, which means we need EACH AND EVERY member to contribute in some way. Separate to this newsletter is a jobs list. You will notice that there are still a lot of spaces and names missing, so please review it and let Belinda know ASAP which job you would like to nominate for, otherwise you might find yourself mysteriously volunteered for something! Some things to think of now:
We will need a lot of workers for the canteen, bar and BBQ so please think of times that will or won’t suit you as we will soon do up a roster. Please let Belinda know.
We still need a lot of sponsorship, so if you have any suggestions on businesses to contact for possible sponsorship, please let Fiona Nixon (nixon@hinet.net.au) know ASAP.
It has been suggested that individuals/families can assist by providing sponsorship in a monetary sense or donating prizes for the winners or runner’s up of a grade. If you would like to do this, please contact Fiona or Ann.
Don’t forget we need LOTS of firewood.
We will need outdoor gas heaters if anybody has one they could kindly lend.
We will need horses for the umpire pool. If you would like to lend yours, please just ensure they are quiet for anyone to ride and are shod.
We have to provide up to 8 horses for the U.K touring junior team. If you are prepared to loan your horse, please contact Bruce Greenslade (02 48789 107). It is anticipated that the team will not be very strong, so A-grade quality horses are not essential, just sensible, honest horses.
Burradoo members will need their yellow Burradoo “shield” membership cards to get through the gate (remembering we will have external people manning the gate who may not know who you are). If you don’t have yours, please contact Belinda ASAP to have this sorted out.

If anyone has any ideas for the carnival, please let Fiona, Alina, Ann, Bill, Claire or Belinda know.

New members
Burradoo would like to welcome our latest new members Luke Geddes and Simon Grimson. Welcome to the family! It’s also great to see Wayne Yeo back in the Burradoo colours after some time on the sideline. I am sure it will feel like he hasn’t had any time off at all.

NSW Representation
Congratulations to Ella Edwards who was called into the NSW Intermediate team to compete against the New Zealand touring side at Canberra carnival. Ella was outstanding in her performance and stamped her spot in all of the games. Well done Ella!

Outstanding zone and club fees
There are still quite a number of Club and Zone fees outstanding. If you know you haven’t paid these, please contact Belinda ASAP to organise payment. For intermediates/seniors the amount is $40, for juniors/subbies the amount is $7.

Fundraising
Thanks to everyone for selling (or perhaps eating themselves!) the Cadbury chocolates. This has really helped the Club’s funds, by making $800 profit. A big thank you for Taneale Murray for organising this.

Uniform
Please check all of your gear to ensure it is yours. If not, please return it to the person you borrowed it from. It is recommended to write your name on all of your uniform so if lost, it can be returned.
If you require new rosettes, please see Taneale Murray who has a box of them which were kindly made by Em & Veronica Dickson.
Please also remember that you are required to have an Australian Standard helmet AS3838. This is important for our new members.
If you need to update your playing uniform, pieces are available at Bong Bong. Please let Ann know if you require anything. Cost of the uniform is:
Club Shirts $50.00 Saddlecloths $40.00
Set of Numbers $20.00 Water-proof warm up jackets: $85.00

Wisdom from Dr John Kohnke BVSc RDA
Something we should all think about: “All tendon boots and wraps must be removed as soon as a horse returns to the wash bay and not left on the limb, as they can retain heat which may damage tendon core fibrils and lead to matrix and tendon failure in the future”.

Burradoo Website
Don’t forget to send through any information for Mim to put on the site. If you have anything that she could use please send it through to her at miriamoszurko@bigpond.com or 0418 428 347 or 02 48895 774. Our website is a very useful tool for people to find out all about us. Don’t forget to check it out- www.burradoopolocrosse.com

Bits and Pieces
Congratulations to Luke and Lillian Greenslade on their recent marriage in Alice Springs. Those who attended enjoyed a lovely trip.
Congratulations also to Anthony Yeo and Bindi Gove on their recent respective weddings.
Welcome to Charlie John Tarlinton who was born 11th March 2011.
Bill Heuston has been attempting to fence with his head recently, which we wouldn’t suggest he do anymore of! Best wishes to Bill on a speedy recovery.
It’s been great to see Neville and Carol Gilpin at some of the Southern Highlands carnivals.
The 2012 Australian National Championships will be held in Warwick QLD from 23-29th April. Vying for positions in NSW teams are Ella Edwards, Rod Edwards, Bruce Greenslade and Belinda Tarlinton. Book your accommodation now as there is sure to be first class polocrosse played!
Good luck to Ella Edwards and Maddy Cormie who will be sitting for their HSC later on this year.
For sale- second-hand pair of good quality leather-soled ladies long boots in very good order. You will need to have very thin legs though. If you would like to try them, please see Ann Anderson.
Botany Bay Imports offer a great clipper blade sharpening service, as well as other items to buy. Visit them online at www.botanybayimports.com.au or call on (02) 9700 0800 or just simply post your blades to: PO Box 260 BOTANY NSW 2019.

Next Committee Meeting: Wednesday 6 July starting at 7.30pm at Goulburn Workers Club, Auburn Street, Goulburn. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE TO NORMAL MEETINGS!

2011 Season

Well the 2011 season is just around the corner with the first carnival scheduled for the 26/27 March. This means that there are only a few practices left, so if you are still feeling a bit rusty it might be a good idea to venture to a practice which is held every Sunday at Bong Bong starting around 10am.

Our Club Captains and Selectors for 2011 are:

Club Captain: Bruce Greenslade

Ladies Captain: Taneale Murray

Selectors: Rod Edwards- (02) 48442 239

Bruce Greenslade- (02) 48789 107

Janis Greenslade- (02) 48789 107

Robert Kilby- (02) 48442 226

Taneale Murray- 0418 851 434

If you wish to nominate by email please use burradoopolox@gmail.com

Remember it is your responsibility to contact one of the selectors to advise if you can play or not. This should be done by the Monday before the weekend at the latest.

** Please note that our first carnival is Lake George held at Bungendore. This also happens to be the weekend of the NSW state election, which means everyone won’t be at home, so you will need to organise your vote, i.e. postal, from Bungendore, etc.

New members

A huge welcome to our new members: the Zanatta Family- Davide, Patrizia, Jessica, Kristen, Luke and Davide Jnr; Mitch Cunningham, Nick Bendesy, Mikayla Jeffcoat, Craig Lidgard and Maggie McGuren. It’s great to see some new faces. We hope you fall in love with the sport and lifestyle as much as we already have.

Moss Vale Show

Moss Vale Show Society has asked us to coordinate a demonstration match to be held in the evening of Saturday 19 March starting at 6.00pm. This is a fantastic way for us to showcase our sport and club to the surrounding community and drum up as much support as possible for the upcoming 2011 Zone Championships. If you would like to participate by either playing, umpiring, setting up the fields or time-keeping/scoring, please let one of the selectors know ASAP. If you are picked in a team, then you are given passes to get into the show for free. If you are not a Bowral local, but would like to still participate in the show, don’t forget you can stay the Saturday night at Bong Bong to attend the practice on Sunday.

Southern Highlands Zone carnival

The 2011 Southern Highlands zone carnival is being held on the 2/3 April and will be a multi-horse carnival. This means that players are allowed to play more than 1 horse for the carnival. For example, you can take 2 horses and play one game on one and the next game on the second horse. However, you cannot change horses during games. This is a great opportunity for those who have young or green horses to get them out and playing, but not put them under the pressure of playing a full carnival. The grades for the weekend will be Open, Mixed, Juniors and Subbies. Entry will be $20.00 per senior player and $10.00 per junior player, with subbies free.

The Saturday night will also see the presentation of the awards from the 2010 season (in lieu of there not being a presentation night held at the end of the season last year).

As this is a whole zone carnival, the jobs and responsibilities of running the carnival are shared between clubs. This year Burradoo will be doing 1 stint in the canteen (day/time yet to be advised) and coordinating the raffle. If anyone has any great ideas for raffle items please let Belinda know. Further each club must provide cakes and slices for the canteen, so please get your baking hats on!

Club Captain’s Corner

Here are some thoughts from our Club Captain, Bruce Greenslade:

GOALS

Have a think about where you are now and where you would like to be (i.e. standard of play, skills, horsemanship etc.). You can wander along, but nothing will speed up your progress quicker than having a good honest look at how you are playing- things that you find easy and things that you struggle with. These are the things that we can communicate about within the club and try to work on and improve these skills. One way is to write down the things you want to get done in the next year and check it out at the end of the season. Don’t be afraid to have an imagination in setting your long term goals, but keep your short term goals reachable. These are the things we need to work on to improve our performance individually and as a club. Your goals can be something as simple as practising with your stick everyday, making it easier for your horse by have him fit, fed, shod and happy. If you are not happy with some aspect of your game please don’t hesitate to ask any of our experienced coaches for advice. If anyone has any suggestions please don’t be afraid to put them forward.

Fundraising

Big thanks to Taneale Murray who has organized Cadbury chocolates to sell as a fundraiser. Make sure you get your box, as this is a great, easy way to contribute to the Club’s coffers. I do know a certain member who has just bought the box to eat herself!

Working Bee

A small group of merry men had a working bee Saturday 26 February to pull down the wooden yards near the showers. These yards are being relocated near the existing yards at the gas works field to allow space for Bong Bong to create a bus parking area. Big thanks to these men for their work in pulling them down. Now for the fun re-erecting!

Bowral Show

Thanks to the 24 people who helped out manning the canteen and cooking the BBQ at Bowral Show, as well as Claire for organising the roster. This is a great, easy fundraiser for us so I would encourage everyone to assist next year.

2011 NSW Zone Championships

Only 5 months until our big carnival!!! A small group of people have started having meetings, however if anyone has any ideas for the carnival, please let Fiona, Alina, Ann, Bill, Claire or Belinda know. Additionally if there are any suggestions on businesses to contact for possible sponsorship, please let Fiona Nixon (nixon@hinet.net.au) know ASAP. We also need to start accumulating a large collection of firewood as no doubt the Southern Highlands weather will be turned on in August, so we would ask if you can please help us with this, please do so. A big thanks to the Selby Family who has offered to provide some already, but it never hurts to have as much as possible. The carnival will be here before we know it and we really need everyone to pitch in as much as possible. We earned a fantastic reputation after hosting the Quad Challenge and we need to ensure this is maintained by running even better zone championships.

Thanks

· Thanks to the Bendesy Family for giving the club “caps” which can be put onto playing helmets in lieu of having to use vests to differentiate teams when Burradoo plays Burradoo.

· Thank you to all who volunteered their time to coach at the recent ASH camp held in Bundanoon

Uniform

We have a new uniform officer in Mim who will be looking very closely this year at how our players are presented. This means shirts tucked in, clean, white jodhpurs/jeans, clean boots, bandages, bell boots and gear.

Please also remember that you are required to have an Australian Standard helmet AS3838. This is important for our new members.

If you need to update your playing uniform for 2011, pieces are available at Bong Bong. Please let Ann know if you require anything. Cost of the uniform is:

Club Shirts $50.00 Saddlecloths $40.00

Set of Numbers $20.00 Water-proof warm up jackets: $85.00

2011 Membership

The $25 discount for renewing members now does not apply, so please be aware if you are a playing member and have not renewed your membership for 2011, there will be an additional $25 applicable. All playing and social members are responsible for renewing their own memberships via the on-line database. The fees must be received by the NSW office and acknowledged before you will be able to participate in practices or carnivals. Furthermore the zone and club fees must also be received by Belinda or directly into the club’s account. Please keep this in mind with our season starting in 3 weeks.

Neville’s recovery

Our long-term stalwart Neville Gilpin is now out of hospital after this recent stint in St Vincent’s in Sydney for treatment of throat cancer. Whilst there is still a while to go, Nev is doing well and is gradually building his strength and getting his colour back and I am sure if he has his way, it won’t be long until we see him on the sideline again. Our thoughts are with you, Nev. The Gilpin Family would like to pass on their thanks for all of the kind words and offers of support throughout this time.

Art Exhibition

Jenny Bell has her latest art exhibition displayed at the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, titled “shedding light”. This will run from 1-26 March. Go and check it out and see a different side of one of our players that you may not have known about.

Masters Competition

For those who are interested, the polocrosse competition at the Masters Games will be held in Adelaide starting the 7th October. If anyone would like to go, please contact Ann for more information.

Bits and Pieces

· Congratulations to Sam Shields and George Stathis on their recent engagement. At this stage they are looking at an autumn wedding in 2012.

· Our best wishes go to Wayne Yeo, Jamie Brooks and Bernadette Brown. Wayne is recovering after breaking his foot riding a motorbike, which has put a very large dampener on Wayne’s big return to the field. Hopefully it won’t delay it too much and we will look forward to seeing you in Burradoo colours again. Jamie is recovering after a stint in hospital following a fall. Bernadette is entering her third chemotherapy treatment.

· Well done to Belinda Tarlinton who was recently awarded the “2010 Administrator of the Year” award at the NSWPA AGM.

· Congratulations to Alina Gilpin who has agreed to take on a 1 day per week position within the PAA to assist our other Club member, Fiona Nixon in the National Executive Officer position, and promotions.

· Tim Barnes, a local horse dentist will be coming to the practice on Sunday 20th March. If anyone is interested in having their horse’s teeth done, please let Taneale know.

· Congratulations to Courtney and Daniel Whipp on the recent healthy arrival of Thomas John.

· Check out the latest edition of the “Highlife” to see an article on our Edwards/Bell family farm, “Bohara”.

· Botany Bay Imports offer a great clipper blade sharpening service, as well as other items to buy. Visit them online at www.botanybayimports.com.au or call on (02) 9700 0800 or just simply post your blades to: PO Box 260 BOTANY NSW 2019.

· Next Committee Meeting: Wednesday 23 March starting at 7.30pm at Moss Vale Services Club

2010 Season

It’s hard to believe that we have nearly finished the SH carnivals for the 2010 season. Another year has flashed past. We have been blessed with generally warm weather at each carnival, with the exception of the wet at Hall. We have also had some very successful wins, both teams and individuals, so we should be very proud of our Club. Special mention should be made to all of new players! Your enthusiasm and success is quite infectious! You should all be very proud of your achievements, just as we are. I hope everyone has enjoyed the season so far.

Burradoo carnival

Our carnival thankfully came and went without too much hassle (well for those not on the Committee anyway). We were very lucky to get great mild weather, and even though we had large numbers of teams competing, still managed to finish with some daylight left on Saturday. A massive thank you to all who did put time and effort into making the carnival run smoothly yet again. Those who work are often not publicly acknowledged enough and it is assumed we all do it for the love of it, although in the lead up and during the actual event I am sure we all wonder how much we do love it… until the Monday after and we wonder what all the fuss was about. Congratulations to all of our teams and individuals who won prizes. The results for the carnival were:

A Grade Juniors winners: Burradoo 1 runner’s Up: Eurocoast

This presentation represented the Club’s appreciation and recognition of Carol’s dedication, support and love of the club.

New Zealand Visitors

We were very lucky to have Talie and “Baz” Burtt and Cameron McKenzie come over from New Zealand and play with us at Milton and Braidwood carnivals. Our Kiwi friends were kindly put up by Allan and Alina, Neville and the Edwards family and when they weren’t mucking around with horses, ensured they made the most of visiting our country by doing some day trips. Thank you to all of those who lent horses, supplied gear and helped transport the horses. Although no major wins were recorded, I am sure they had a great time and the experience made up for not winning. All those at Milton will keep the memory of doing the haka around the campfire alive!

We hope that in the future some of our members will be able to go over and visit them and get to experience polocrosse in New Zealand during their 2010 or 2011 season. Start thinking about planning your holidays!

SH Zone Carnival

The SH zone carnival has been changed to 26/27 June at Hall grounds. Burradoo has the jobs of helping clean and maintain the showers and toilets in conjunction with Braidwood club.

Uniform/ Merchandise

For anyone who needs uniform, please contact Ann for any of the following:

* Club Shirts: $50.00 * Set of numbers: $20.00

* Saddlecloth: $40.00 * Water-proof warm up jackets: $85.00

Don’t forget there is still Quad merchandise available.

Burradoo Website

Big thanks to Miriam Oszurko who has taken on looking after the upkeep of our website. Mim is interested in any tip bits, info and photos to put on the site. If you have anything that she could use please send it through to her at miriamoszurko@bigpond.com or 0418 428 347 or 02 48895 774.

2011 NSW Zone Championships

We have been awarded the running of the 2011 NSW Zone Championships which will be run in August 2011. This will require a big effort from everyone, so please get your thinking caps on how we can make this carnival just as successful as the International Quad Challenge. We developed a fantastic reputation after running the Quads, so let’s maintain it! Things to start considering- sponsorship!! A carnival can’t be a successful without good backing from companies through either donated items, prizes or funds, so if you know of somewhere we should initiate contact with, please contact Fiona, Alina or Ann

End of Year get-together planning

We have started thinking about what we can do to celebrate the end of the season. At this stage, there are 2 ideas we would like to get your thoughts on:

1) A trail ride around the Breadalbane area, with the night spent at a woolshed playing “games” and trivia

2) Afternoon/evening at a local hall, playing tennis in the afternoon, trivia and “games” in the evening.

If you can please let Claire Kilby (Claire.Kilby@anz.com) know your thoughts on either option so we can ensure the best get-together for the club.

Bits and Pieces

· Speedy recovery wishes to Tim Bendesy who unfortunately managed to break his collarbone in 2 places playing football at school. We also hope that Taylor Hooton, who had knee surgery, also has a speedy recovery.

· Congratulations to Lou Kilby who has finally finished University (with a collective sigh from her family members I hear!). Well done Lou!

· Well done to Emily and Veronica Dickson who represented Burradoo at the Club Champs in Bingara.

· Condoloscences to the families of Dr John Walsh and Cecil Krebs. Dr Walsh was a Patron of the Club and a most generous benefactor. Cecil was a playing member in the 1960’s-1970’s.

· WANTED- 14-15hh very quiet horse wanted for 9 yr old child for Pony Club, farm work, etc. Knowledgeable family already involved with horses. Please contact Wendy, 0418 325 355

· There is some alcohol and water left over from our carnival. If anyone is interested in purchasing, please speak to Belinda.

· Did anyone who participated at Moss Vale show, have to pay to get in? If so, please speak to Belinda

· Don’t forget to check out the NSW website to keep up to date all things NSW Polocrosse. The site is www.nswpolocrosse.com.au . This site also lists the updated carnival date list.

· Lost- the Club’s calico bag that was used at the Jemmy Moss for the meat tray raffles. Also lost- a towel (used as a saddlecloth) was left down near the field at the first practice of the year. If you know the whereabouts of either, please let Belinda know.

· Next Committee Meeting is Thursday 24 June 2010 at the GOULBURN WORKERS’ Club (236-238 Auburn St, Goulburn) at 7.30pm. Please note the change in location for this meeting. Hope to see you ALL there!

There was some fantastic polocrosse played over the week, with some thrills and spills… none bigger than our Club Secretary Ann Anderson unwittingly playing “show jump” with a runaway horse, and coming off second best, being knocked out cold for a small while. Thankfully Ann only spent 4 hours in hospital, no doubt after they got sick of listening to “I’m fine, I have arnica in the truck, I am missing games!”

NSW should be congratulated with being in all 10 finals and winning 6 of them

New Zealand trip
