Location

Burradoo Polocrosse Club is situated in the Southern Highlands of NSW. This is a unique area within Australia, sitting atop of a
sandstone plateau 700 meters above sea level, which straddles the Great Dividing Range. The area covers 2,700 square kilometres with a population of over 40,000, consisting of over 20 villages clustered around the major towns of Bowral, Moss Vale and Mittagong.

It is within a comfortable driving distance from Australia’s two major cities, Sydney 114kms and Canberra 170kms and other regional cities and coastal towns, Wollongong, 69kms, Kiama 62, Nowra 62, Kangaroo Valley 40kms and Goulburn 79kms.

The Southern Highlands is considered a cool climate region with four distinct seasons with mild summers and cool winters and in autumn the average temperature has a Max 22° and Min 5°.

Although the Southern Highlands region is changing with the pressures of residential and commercial developments, it still retains
its rural aesthetics and lifestyle. Where once the main industry was predominantly dairy farming, now tourism, horticulture and recent years the viticulture industry has rapidly increased with the fast growing interest in cool climate wines.

Bowral is the closest of the three major towns within the Southern Highlands, and is situated 5.3kms (8 minutes) from the Burradoo
Polocrosse Grounds. The town is rich in history, beautiful gardens and stately homes of an era by gone, but is probably best known as “Bradman Country”.

Bowral these days is the hub of the Southern Highlands. It offers people numerous choices of accommodation, eateries, entertainment venues, galleries, speciality shops and supermarkets.

The other two major towns, Mittagong to the north and Moss Vale to the south, also offer excellent facilities in accommodation, eateries and day to day services. Both these towns are only ten minutes from Bowral.

The Southern Highlands area has many features to offer from relaxing in resorts, shopping or on chauffeured driven food and wine experiences to the ultimate Highland Warbird adventure flights, Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk or exploring the magnificent waterfalls and panoramas located within our surrounding area and Nation Parks.
